Real Service, Real Review. This is a review of a free hosting service - www.narod.ru.
There are many free hosting services available on the Internet. I made it my mission to review some of them to determine the level of speed, functionality, support and just plain usability. I hope there will be enough reviews to give you enough information to make an informative decision. The difference of this excersize from other reviews available on the internet is that the reviewed pages are actually hosted with the hosting service provider that is being reviewed. Hopefully we'll be able to monitor uptime with Netcraft, and other general site performance.

Narod.ru is one of Yandex projects. It's hosted in Russia and is a useful service for beginners. There are more than 100 patterns for fast creation of websites, plus scripts for Guest books, the Personal forums, chats, Communities, etc. And it supports FTP.
All seems to work and easy to follow (that is if you can read Russian!). A little ad appears at the top right corner now and then.
And Now for Something Completely Different
Did you know that there is a small application that allows you to store your files inside your existing gmail account. It’s called Gmail Drive. It’s been around for a number of years and proved to be quite a stable solution. More info is here.
